We need new ideas and new public health strategies. You can't easily lockdown a population that has nothing to fear and nobody to blame. Lockdowns are the result of an incompetent government bureaucracy and weak political leadership which manifests itself as "fear-mongering" and scapegoating". Given the money that has been spent overloaded hospitals shouldn't even be on the health care radar. The USA has between 36 and 40 ICU beds per 100K pop. After a deluge of spending, we have 1 more bed per 100k pop. ![]() Ĭanadian governments have spent over $600B of our tax dollars to protect us from Covid-19 to what end? Pre-pandemic Ontario had about 2100 ICU beds (14 beds/100k pop). The steep rise in cases and hospitalizations in the vaccinated is following the same trend we can see in highly vaccinated states across the USA. The already locked down and segregated unvaccinated aren't responsible rise in cases. Today 7% of Ontario's ICU capacity is devoted to the totality of Covid-19 patients.
